Light is life; it is the beginning of all creation.
Access to light determines the quality of life.
Next to salvation, the greatest need of the believer is light.
Teaching priests have always been in the system of God.
The duty of a priest is two-fold: to pray, representing the people before God and representing God to the people.
Anyone who takes your priest away has programmed you for problems.
Teaching priests are light-bearers to the body of Christ.
Teaching priests are agents of enlightenment and illumination. Neh. 8:8-9 “So they read in the book in the law of God distinctly, and gave the sense, and caused them to understand the reading and Nehemiah, which is the Tirshatha, and Ezra the priest the scribe, and the Levites that taught the people, said unto all the people, This day is holy unto the Lord your God; mourn not, nor weep. For all the people wept, when they heard the words of the law.”
When you are well taught, you are able to go on your way. Eph. 3:3,8-9
The teaching priests are agents of stirring joy in people.
Without teachers, believers are doomed. Hosea 4:6 “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.”
Without teachers, believers are doomed and will remain in captivity. Eph. 4:11-13, Acts 6:4 “But we will give ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the word”
Functions of the Teaching Priest
- They are eye-openers.
Teachers help us to see that all things are possible. Acts 8:26-35
Those who have teachers don’t miss their steps.
They are the voices of God to us through their teachings.
Lack of value for your teachers will keep you in adversity.
- Light bearing. Matt. 10:8
It is in the light of our teachers that we see light. Psa. 36:9, Isa. 9:8 “The Lord sent a word into Jacob, and it hath lighted upon Israel.”
The more the intensity of the teaching, the greater the blessing you enjoy. Gal. 1:11-12
- Interpretation of the word.
Interpretation is meant for those who are confused.
They guide us to our redemptive rights. Job 33:21-25
- They are feeders.
They feed us with knowledge to develop our spiritual muscles. John 21:15-16, Jer. 3:15-16
- They are sent to bring us to the same level of their faith in God. Eph. 4:13
How to maximize the ministry of teaching priests:
- Always pray that your ears and eyes will be open to what they are teaching. Eph. 1:17
- Crave to receive the word. Luke 5:1 “And it came to pass, that, as the people pressed upon him to hear the word of God, he stood by the lake of Gennesaret”
Those who crave for light often end up as more than conquerors. Dan 9:2, 2 Tim. 4:13
- Respond with humility to their scripturally based corrections and instructions. 2 Chron. 15:8
- Continue steadfastly in the application of the teaching received from them.
