Text: Exodus 32:26
Spirituality is the custodian of every great destiny in the kingdom. Until the foundation of spirituality is in place, no one can take his or her place. Spirituality is defined simply as living by the Word.
For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son: John 5:22.
I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me; John 5:30.
Living under the dictates of God, the instructions of God is what we call spirituality.
For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ; 1Corinthians 3:11.
The foundation upon which any man can work is the foundation of the Word.
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2 The same was in the beginning with God; John 1:1-2.
The kind of vessel you and I have is determined by the position we take as far as sanctification is concerned.
19 Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.
20 But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour.
21 If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master’s use, and prepared unto every good work; 2 Timothy 2:19-21.
There is nothing more precious than eternity in Christ.
Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God; 1corinthians 6:10.
What are the benefits of being on God’s side?
- Being on God’s side is the strong tower of believers.
He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty; Psalm 91:1.
When you are on the side of God, you have run to a strong tower. It is the righteous that have access to the safety defense system of heaven.
What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us? Romans 8:31.
We know that whosoever is born of God sinneth not; but he that is begotten of God keepeth himself, and that wicked one toucheth him not; 1 John 5:18.
There are untouchable personalities in the kingdom and they are those who have kept themselves from sin.
16 Behold, I have created the smith that bloweth the coals in the fire, and that bringeth forth an instrument for his work; and I have created the waster to destroy.
17 No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is of me, saith the Lord; Isaiah 54:16-17.
When you are on the right side of God, forget your enemies; they do not have the capacity to touch you. When Israel was on God’s side in Egypt, God came down to deliver them.
32 Also take your flocks and your herds, as ye have said, and be gone; and bless me also; Exodus 12:32.
God brought the Israelites into favor.
21 And I will give this people favour in the sight of the Egyptians: and it shall come to pass, that, when ye go, ye shall not go empty; Exodus 3:21.
36 And the Lord gave the people favour in the sight of the Egyptians, so that they lent unto them such things as they required. And they spoiled the Egyptians; Exodus 12:36.
7 When a man’s ways please the Lord, he maketh even his enemies to be at peace with him; Proverbs 16:7.
God in their midst turned them into living wonders.
When Israel went out of Egypt, the house of Jacob from a people of strange language;
2 Judah was his sanctuary, and Israel his dominion.
3 The sea saw it, and fled: Jordan was driven back.
4 The mountains skipped like rams, and the little hills like lambs.
5 What ailed thee, O thou sea, that thou fleddest? thou Jordan, that thou wast driven back?
6 Ye mountains, that ye skipped like rams; and ye little hills, like lambs?
7 Tremble, thou earth, at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the God of Jacob; Psalm 114:1-7.
He fed them with flesh and manna every single day. Pillar of cloud behinds them, Pillar of fire following them.
There is a dimension of God’s side that you belong to and people will agree that you are not an ordinary person. When you get to God’s side, you begin to manifest God’s size, everywhere you are they begin to see God on every side. Gideon became a one Man army simply by getting on God’s side.
How do you remain on God’s side?
1. Beware of pride.
Pride is defined as an inordinate or high opinion of one’s dignity, importance, merit or superiority over others.
But when he was strong, his heart was lifted up to his destruction: for he transgressed against the Lord his God, and went into the temple of the Lord to burn incense upon the altar of incense; 2 Chronicles 26:16.
God wants to lift you up but don’t lift your heart up, pride is an exaltation of one’s self above measure.
And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure; 2 Corinthians 12:7.
You must be conscious to a point that nothing causes your heart to be lifted up.
For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith; Romans 12:3.
Pride is very subtle, it sinks into the heart like poison, and it’s highly destructive.
The king spake, and said, Is not this great Babylon, that I have built for the house of the kingdom by the might of my power, and for the honour of my majesty? Daniel 4:30.
If a man will not humble himself, God will humble him. Being humble by choice is better than being humbled by force. Don’t let pride sink into your heart, there are people who have thought that their presence is what makes things happen but their absence did not stop anything from happening. Don’t have an exaggerated opinion of yourself, guard yourself from pride. It is a killer, and comes before destruction. Remain small in your own eyes.
Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves; Philippians 2:3.
Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall; Proverbs 16:18.
- Beware of covetousness.
And he said unto them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man’s life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth; Luke 12:15.
Covetousness is having a strong desire for things that other people have.
Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee; Hebrews 13:5.
The problem with covetousness is that it brings dissatisfaction and is highly destructive in the adventure of life.
7 For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out.
8 And having food and raiment let us be therewith content.
9 But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition; 1Timothy 6:7-9.
Covetousness is a destroyer and the effect of it can be generational as it leads to many other sins. All manner of fraudulent activities is largely on the basis of covetousness. Covetousness also leads to wicked things.
Does it make sense to go into the bush to see a man inside a hut who is sleeping on the floor in a place without a road, to have a comfortable life? If what he is giving is true, why does he not take it first?
- You must continue to walk by faith.
7 (For we walk by faith, not by sight:); 2 Corinthians 5:7.
6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him; Hebrews 11:6
12 Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God; Hebrews 3:12.
Nothing displeases God like individuals doubting him, God is always attracted to those who believe in Him.
6 But the righteousness which is of faith speaketh on this wise, Say not in thine heart, Who shall ascend into heaven? (that is, to bring Christ down from above:)
7 Or, Who shall descend into the deep? (that is, to bring up Christ again from the dead.); Romans 10:6 -7.
It’s not a questioning faith, it’s a believing faith that works. Whatsoever is not of faith is sin.
23 And he that doubteth is damned if he eat, because he eateth not of faith: for whatsoever is not of faith is sin; Romans 14:23.
The fundamental of being on God’s side is righteousness consciousness, an undying crave for sanctification and continuous exercise for Godliness.
What are the dangers of not being on God’s side?
- It blocks access to God’s favour and when a life lacks favour it enters into misfortune.
Righteousness is attractive because it is scarce, Scarcity drives value. Whenever something is very abundant, it is very cheap. Gold and diamond are expensive because it is scarce. Righteousness is a scarce commodity.
- It results into an embattled life.
3 And he had seven hundred wives, princesses, and three hundred concubines: and his wives turned away his heart; 1Kings 11:3.
9 Behold, a son shall be born to thee, who shall be a man of rest; and I will give him rest from all his enemies round about: for his name shall be Solomon, and I will give peace and quietness unto Israel in his days; 1 Chronicles 22:9.
When Solomon went off God’s side, he entered into a life of battles.
- It blocks access to the giving grace that brings men to fortune and prosperity.
7 Therefore, as ye abound in every thing, in faith, and utterance, and knowledge, and in all diligence, and in your love to us, see that ye abound in this grace also; 2 Corinthians 8:7.
Repentance is a non-negotiable requirements for experiencing the best of God, don’t pretend, don’t pose, repent!
Repentance requires sincere sorrow or feeling of guilt for whatever you have done wrong.
10 For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death.
11 For behold this selfsame thing, that ye sorrowed after a godly sort, what carefulness it wrought in you, yea, what clearing of yourselves, yea, what indignation, yea, what fear, yea, what vehement desire, yea, what zeal, yea, what revenge! In all things ye have approved yourselves to be clear in this matter; 2 Corinthians 7:10-11.
There is nothing too big for God to clear off if man will repent.
