MESSAGE TITLE: Understanding the Blessedness of a Revival (Pt. 2A)
MINISTERING: BISHOP DAVID O. OYEDEPO
Text: “O LORD, I have heard thy speech, and was afraid: O LORD, revive thy work in the midst of the years, in the midst of the years make known; in wrath remember mercy.” – Habakkuk 3:2
Revival begins with an individual.
Ps 85:6 “Wilt thou not revive us again: that thy people may rejoice in thee?”
Revival is about people bouncing back to life and coming out of their spiritual graves. You cannot maximize the blessedness of divine visitation without first cleaning up.
Ex. 19:10-11 “10 And the LORD said unto Moses, Go unto the people, and sanctify them to day and to morrow, and let them wash their clothes, 11 And be ready against the third day: for the third day the LORD will come down in the sight of all the people upon mount Sinai.”

Your activities will not be a substitute for sanctification.
2 Tim. 2:20-21 “20 But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour. 21 If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master’s use, and prepared unto every good work.“
It is the purity of your personality that determines your outcome in stewardship. Stewardship without a genuine commitment to sanctification holds no value. To live a sanctified life, you must take responsibility from the Word.
Luke 11:27 “And it came to pass, as he spake these things, a certain woman of the company lifted up her voice, and said unto him, Blessed is the womb that bare thee, and the paps which thou hast sucked.”
It is not enough to be awake, it is more important to stay awake. Work on yourself!
It takes humility to desire a revival and a higher quality walk with God. Only the humble can be revived. The Joy of the Lord is Biblical proof of a revived soul.
Ps. 85:6 “Wilt thou not revive us again: that thy people may rejoice in thee?”
Hab. 3:18 “Yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will joy in the God of my salvation.”
You can always check your revival temperature by your level of joy.
Neh. 8:10 “Then he said unto them, Go your way, eat the fat, and drink the sweet, and send portions unto them for whom nothing is prepared: for this day is holy unto our Lord: neither be ye sorry; for the joy of the LORD is your strength.”
The joy of the Lord shows the path of Life; it revitalizes your energy.
Pro. 17:22 “A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones.“

What is a Revival?
- A revival is a move of God that rescues God’s people from bondage, culminating in a supernatural change of story.
Hab. 3:6 “He stood, and measured the earth: he beheld, and drove asunder the nations; and the everlasting mountains were scattered, the perpetual hills did bow: his ways are everlasting.“ - A revival is a move of the Spirit that culminates in the drafting of multitudes into God’s kingdom.
Acts 4:4 “Howbeit many of them which heard the word believed; and the number of the men was about five thousand.“
Acts 5:12-14 “12 And by the hands of the apostles were many signs and wonders wrought among the people; (and they were all with one accord in Solomon’s porch. 13 And of the rest durst no man join himself to them: but the people magnified them. 14 And believers were the more added to the Lord, multitudes both of men and women.)“
When Does a Revival Occur?
- A revival occurs when people begin to seek after God with genuine repentance.
Gal. 3:22 “But the scripture hath concluded all under sin, that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to them that believe.“ - A revival occurs when people begin to take pleasure in the things of the kingdom, as a way of life.
Matt. 6:33 “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”
Ps. 102:14-15 “14 For thy servants take pleasure in her stones, and favour the dust thereof. 15 So the heathen shall fear the name of the LORD, and all the kings of the earth thy glory.“
Benefits of a Revival
- Everlasting mountains clear because of God’s presence.
- We enjoy divine favor.
Acts 2:47 “Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.“ - It triggers the flow of signs and wonders among God’s people.
All-round Rest Ministration
All round rest is the will of God for you.
John 14:27 “Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.“
Rom. 11:29″For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance.“
Your stand with God is what determines how much peace you enjoy in your life. To enjoy the reality of all-round rest, you have to let Jesus into your boat. If you are genuinely married to God, His peace settles with you.
To enjoy All-round rest:
- You must be born again and becomes a disciple of God.
- Stay in love with God by cleaving to Him as in a marriage.
- Enter a covenant to serve God with all your heart and the whole of your desire.
2 Chr. 15:15 “And all Judah rejoiced at the oath: for they had sworn with all their heart, and sought him with their whole desire; and he was found of them: and the LORD gave them rest round about.“
