Message Title: The Power Of Discipline. 1Cor 9:24-26

What is Discipline? Discipline is not doing what you like but as demanded, Discipline is essentially self-control. Imposed Discipline will leave you as a Slave. But when you discipline yourself, you will grow to be a King. if you don’t know how to say NO, you will not be known. In life, Discipline means operating has demands that are not as convenient.
Discipline is doing as required not as desired. If you pay with play today, you will pay with pain tomorrow. The difference between adulthood and childhood is training and that training is discipline. Without discipline, there’s no distinction.
Ecc 10:16 “Folly is set in great dignity, and the rich sit in low place.”
Discipline is the linkage between liability and responsibility.

Two Types of Control:
- Imposed Control
- Self Control
Self-Discipline is operating without no supervision.
Examples of Self-Disciplined People in the Scripture
- Joseph
Learn to say no and be loud about it, defilement of your body is forever.

Areas of Discipline
- Sleep – Prov 24: 34
When you sleep beyond measure, you are dying, poverty is the end of the sleepers.
Prov 24:34 “So shall thy poverty come as one that travelleth; and thy want as an armed man.”
2. Mouth.
Discipline your mouth i.e talking, eating, appetite cannot be satisfied.
Ecc 6:7 “All the labour of man is for his mouth, and yet the appetite is not filled.”
Prov 13:3 – “He that keepeth his mouth keepeth his life: but he that openeth wide his lips shall have destruction.”
Prov 23:1-2 – “1When thou sittest to eat with a ruler, consider diligently what is before thee:
2And put a knife to thy throat, if thou be a man given to appetite”
Control your mouth! Fools are known by their word.
Pro 1:5 “A wise man will hear and will increase learning, and a man of understanding shall attain unto wise counsels:”
Addiction comes from a lack of discipline.
Prov 29:11 “A fool uttereth all his mind: but a wise man keepeth it in till afterwards”
God gave you two ears and a mouth as to hear more and speak less. errors don’t come via hearing but via talking. You live error-free when you talk less.

3. Moral Control.
You need to develop the ability to say NO without feeling guilty.
1 Thes 5:15 “See that none render evil for evil unto any man; but ever follow that which is good, both among yourselves, and to all men”
1 Tim 6:11 “But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness”
Flee from Drunkenness!
Flee from Fornication!
Flee from the Use of Hard Drugs!
Flee from Smoking!

4. Discipline your Dressing.
Dress for glory, beauty & honor. There is no serious minded person that appears anyhow in the public. It takes self -discipline to be distinguished in life. It takes self-discipline to be distinguished in life. It takes self-discipline to make the right accomplishment in life.
JESUS IS LORD!
